Spokesman-Review: Today’s fun fact: It’s World Elephant Day

Wednesday, August 12, 2015

World Elephant Day is underway and we are excited to see major outlets picking up the news. From The Spokesman-Review in Spokane:

“It’s World Elephant Day. That’s not declared by us, but by organizations dedicated to trying to keep elephants from disappearing from the face of the Earth. They are trying to draw attention to the declining number of elephants in the wild.

It’s also being touted by the Initiative 1401 campaign, which is asking voters to toughen Washington laws on products from threatened and endangered animals. They have elephant-themed events in Seattle and Tacoma to mark the day.”
